Karl Storz

Karl Storz establishes his company in Tuttlingen at the age of thirty-four. The product range initially comprises instruments, headlamps and binocular loupes for Ear, Nose and Throat specialists.

1960

The first cold light source

The development of the cold light source opens a new chapter in the company's history and in the endoscopy.

1965

The HOPKINS® rod lens system
A further milestone is the introduction of the HOPKINS® rod lens system.

~ 1980

"Technical endoscopy" becomes a separate company division.

1984-1985

KARL STORZ listed as supplier in the equipment manual of the Daimler company

The company KARL STORZ is listed as supplier in the equipment manual of the Daimler company.

1991

Portable cold light projector

The portable cold light projector is run on a rechargeable battery and includes a high performance light source.

1991

XENON high-performance light source

Development of the first high-power light source with XENON technology for the industry.

Borescope with rotatable light connector

KARL STORZ industrial borescopes feature a new design and a rotating light connector.

1997/1998

Launch of a borescope for use in higher temperatures in the combustion chamber Investigation.

Swiveling V-block: The possibility of a rigid endoscope with variable direction of view over a large field of vision has been realized.

KARL STORZ launches the first mobile documentation system in the field of industrial endoscopy.

Compact videoscope
Flexible endoscope with distal chip (5 mm and 8 mm).

KARL STORZ pioneers the thinnest rod lens borescope worldwide with a diameter of 1.6 mm.

System case with TECHNO PACK® II
