Hygiene
Hygiene is a an essential element of the overall healthcare process and therefore requires that everyone involved in the process possesses extensive professional expertise and responsibility, particularly in the reprocessing of medical devices. The goal must be to reproducibly ensure cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization using suitable reprocessing procedures that can be implemented in daily routine and that take into account all applicable standards and laws for each instrument and endoscope.
At KARL STORZ, this responsibility already starts with instrument and endoscope design, which should permit and ensure the most efficient cleaning possible. With the aid of accessories that are custom designed for the instruments (storage systems, cleaning items, cleaning adapters), valid reprocessing and optimal handling are ensured throughout a medical device’s usage cycle.
