Laparoscopic Needleholders acc. to COGGIA
The laparoscopic needleholders acc. to COGGIA combine characterisics which are essential for surgeons who want to perform laparoscopic suturing, for either aortic anastomosis or other indications. Their simplicity and ergonomics are close to those of conventional needleholders, which make it easier for surgeons to overcome the difficult learning curve of laparoscopic sutures.
The handles are straight with ratchet which allows a good control for clamping and unclamping of the jaws.
The sheaths have a diameter of 5 mm or 10 mm depending on the size and strength of the jaws, and are designed for different types of sutures, either on smooth, thick or calcified tissues.
The jaws are straight like conventional needleholders for open surgery. Straight jaws allow an optimal control of the needle for different types of sutures.
The shape of the jaws combines precision and strength in the positioning of the needles during the anastomosis, even on heavily calcified arteries.
