MIDCAB-Retractor for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery
In cardiac surgery there is a trend towards minimally invasive techniques. Today in western countries about 80% of all interventions are coronary artery bypass surgeries, traditionally performed through a median sternotomy. When it comes to revascularisation of the left anterior descending artery (LAD) many cardiac centers choose a minimally invasive access. MIDCAB (Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass) through a left anterolateral Mini-thoracotomy is the procedure of choice. The cosmetic results are superior to the traditional method and the hospital length of stay decreases.
The new KARL STORZ MIDCAB-Retractor is a shortened version of the SCHÖLLHORN standard retractor and it can be used with the MIDCAB-extension.
The retractor can be used on both sides thanks to the detachable lever.
Special features:
- shortened retractor frame
- can be used with MIDCAB-extension or con two blades
- detachable lever
-
autoclavable
