Pediatric Laparoscopy
KARL STORZ’s specially developed range for pediatric surgery (2 mm and 3 mm instruments) has facilitated a broad range of laparoscopic procedures which, because of their size, were not possible before or only to a limited extent.
For instance, a trocar, specially designed to suit the needs of a pediatric surgeon, make it much easier to change an instrument during a laparoscopic procedure. The use of special threaded trocars enables the first puncture to be made under visual control.
Special features:
- The use of special materials has greatly reduced the weight, with the result that the risk of it slipping out when changing the instrument is minimized.
- LUER Lock connector for insufflation on every trocar – it can also be used to fix the trocar in place with a skin suture
- Very simple valve mechanism, which uses a silicone lip valve
- Autoclavable and therefore suitable for multiple use
