Aviation
The role of quality assurance in all aeronautical areas becomes more and more important. Endoscopy is already being used worldwide as the standard testing system for the visual testing of:
- Turbines
- Combustion chambers
- Low/high pressure compressors
- Cells etc.
As a result of endoscopic engine inspections, aircrafts are now able to fly "on condition". This means that engines are no longer serviced at particular time intervals, but based on the actual engine state, which is continuously determined during flight with a testing system.
Modern engines are already equipped by manufacturer with endoscope bores, facilitating endoscopic inspection. Each manufacturer's manual specifies precisely the procedures and types of endoscopes used for these tests.
Endoscopic inspection shortens aircraft downtimes and safely detects any necessary servicing procedures.
KARL STORZ offers endoscope sets suitable for all common engines used worldwide.
