FIRMIN Illuminated Retractors

These new illuminated retractors with fiber optic light guide were developed by KARL STORZ in collaboration with Dr. Firmin. They were designed with a special focus on classic facelifts and for use with ultracision, if desired.

New technology requires tightening the skin flap at an angle of approx. 60°. This significantly complicates illumination by a surgical light.

The new KARL STORZ illuminated retractors permit optimal illumination of the surgical field. In addition to an illuminated retractor for the classic facelift, KARL STORZ offers a second version for use in the cervical lift procedure.

FIRMIN Facelift Retractor
Two distal sharp teeth serve to tighten the skin flap. Two blunt teeth increase the tissue contact area and serve to maintain the surgical field. Two optical fiber light guides that point in different directions ensure optimal illumination of the surgical field.

Retractor for Cervical Lift Procedures
This illuminated retractor was developed specifically for cervical lift procedures. The spatula is smaller and permits good access below the chin area. Sharp teeth permit tightening of the tissue. An optical fiber light guide permits precise and optimal illumination of the surgical field.
