Neuroendoscopy in the Management of Hydrocephalus – DECQ Neuroendoscopy Set

The neuroendoscopy set recommended by Prof. Decq is designed for the treatment of hydrocephalus, especially for patients with different ventricle sizes. The modular system with three different oval shaft sizes and the matching instruments, including 3.5 mm x 4.7 mm, 3.5 mm x 5.2 mm and 4 mm x 7 mm, can be adapted to the anatomical characteristics of the patient. Depending on the shaft size 1 mm, 1.7 mm and 2- 2.5 mm instruments can be used. Additionally, the use of the larger operating sheath permits the simultaneous use of two instruments which permits bimanual working. The blunt distal operating sheath with its corresponding obturator end permits atraumatic surgery.

Due to the use of a HOPKINS® rod-lens telescope a large viewing angle, excellent intraoperative visualization can be guaranteed. The DECQ neuroendoscope set is designed for the use with a holding device which allows double-hand manoeuvrability. It can also be used in combination with neuronavigation or a stereotactic frame.
