Insufflator for Cardiac Surgery
The Electronic CO2-ENDOFLATOR® recently gained the CF-approval and therefore can be used not only for laparoscopic interventions but for cardiac surgery as well. Since no constructional adaptation was made, the CF-approval is also valid for any Electronic CO2-ENDOFLATOR® that is already in clinical use. If needed, KARL STORZ will provide you with a letter of confirmation.
Using the Electronic CO2-ENDOFLATOR® in open or endoscopically assisted cardiac surgery assures an optimal air extrusion and therefore the risk of air microemboli is reduced to a minimum. Another advantage of using the Electronic CO2-ENDOFLATOR® is that the CO2 decreases the rate of contamination and therefore the risk of postoperative wound infection is minimized.
The Electronic CO2-ENDOFLATOR® can now also be used in the following fields of application:
- Endoscopic vessel harvesting
- Minimally invasive cardiac surgery (e.g. mitral valve surgery)
