The safety of instruments and equipment is a special concern at KARL STORZ. Only components which have proven to be both reliable and safe are used. Working in close collaboration with official test centers (TÜV, DEKRA, UL), detailed tests are carried out and certificates obtained. Instruments and equipment are manufactured and tested according to IEC 601-1 standards (international) and the principles of the Medical Devices Act (MPG - national) .
At the end of every production run, safety tests are performed using specially developed automatic measuring systems, the results of which are individually documented: this way, each product leaves its unique fingerprint before being dispatched.
