KARAM Tissue Retractor
Tissue retractor for grasping and retracting tissue
In collaboration with Dr. Bassem Karam, KARL STORZ has developed a novel tissue retractor. It is used to grasp and retract tissue in aesthetic, plastic and oral and maxillofacial surgery. The instrument can be used in place of two previously needed retraction instruments. As a result, one of the assistant's hands is now available for cutting suture material, coagulating or for suctioning the surgical field.
Two distal spheres ensure particularly atraumatic grasping of tissue.
The tissue retractor can be used for numerous procedures and facilitates use of the oral access, such as in the following indications:
- Surgical access for maxillary LE FORT osteotomies as well as other maxillary accesses for tumor surgery
- Surgical access for chin correction, alone or in the context of orthognathic procedures
- Flap retraction in facelifts
- Any oral access for lip or jaw surgery
- Any procedure requiring extensive retraction
